8hues — a free map of who's nearby

8hues is a free, map-based way to see who is around you. It runs in any browser and there is no app to install. Seeing the map, messaging and changing your location are free and unlimited, and always will be. 8hues Plus is optional and adds incognito browsing, read receipts, video rooms and an ad-free map.

Your exact location is never shown

Nobody sees where you actually are. 8hues places you at a fixed random point inside a circle you size yourself, from 250 feet up to 13 miles. The point holds still while you do, so no one can average out your real position by watching. Your own map shows the truth; everyone else's doesn't.

Changing your location is free

Travel mode lets you browse any city without paying for the privilege. It is not a paid tier and it is not rationed.
